Jonathan White wins Prince George’s County Executive Republican primary

U.S. Air Force veteran Jonathan White won the Republican primary for Prince George’s County Executive. White earned nearly 38 percent of the 3,613 votes cast in the March 4 special primary, according to the Maryland state elections board. White defeated U.S. Army veteran Jesse Peed and victims’ rights advocate George McDermott in the race.

Braveboy and White win Prince George’s County special election primary for County Exec

Airforce veteran Jonathan White rallied to victory in the Republican camp with a smaller vote total of 1338 or 37 percent of the vote total in his primary followed by Jesse Peed who trailed early in the vote count but ended the primary with 1221 votes, 34.5 percent of total votes.  George McDermott who led early on election night ended the evening in 3rd place with a total vote count of 980.

White Responses Prince George’s County Executive Voter Guide

Jonathan White, a 51-year-old resident of Upper Marlboro, is a candidate for Prince George's County Executive. With 30 years of service in the U.S. Air Force and public sectors, he has contributed to the community by co-chairing the Special Education Citizens’ Advisory Committee of Prince George’s County Public Schools, focusing on enhancing outcomes for students with special needs. Additionally, he has volunteered as a coach and mentor, supporting youth development, and has been involved in initiatives related to public safety, education, infrastructure, and senior citizen support.

If elected, White's priorities for his first term include strengthening public safety by increasing support and training for law enforcement and emergency personnel, enhancing education through collaboration with parents and teachers while respecting parental rights, addressing infrastructure issues such as road repairs and litter removal, ensuring fiscal responsibility by eliminating wasteful spending and increasing transparency, and expanding resources for vulnerable populations, particularly seniors.

To address the county's budget crisis, White plans to streamline administrative operations to eliminate redundancies, reevaluate nonessential programs lacking measurable impact, and audit procurement processes to reduce inflated costs and inefficiencies.

White's campaign is driven by residents and grassroots supporters who share his vision. He aims to earn the trust of individuals and organizations aligned with his priorities.
